SilverStone SX1000R is an SFX12V 4.0 version of the SX1000 v1.1. It uses the same SFX-L form factor and released Q3 2023, priced around US$300.

CABLES
SX1000R includes the same assortment of ribbon cables as SX1000, however with the additional inclusion of native 12VHPWR cable. The ribbon cables can be split / separated from each other, then cable tied, which makes them little easier to manage.
NOISE PROFILE
SX1000R is semi-passive upto 250W and remains around 20~25(dbA), with 970RPM fan speed under 700W load. The fan becomes progressively louder between 700~1000W. Fan noise is noticable, but not overly loud. This can be partly attributed to fan motor noise generated by the dual ball bearing fan, which is more distracting than the fan noise itself.

SUMMARY / CONCLUSIONS
SilverStone’s SX1000R features the same protruding connectors as the original SX1000, first released in 2020. The protruding connector ports increase the overall length of SX1000R by roughly 5mm. SilverStone have opted for two dual 6+2-PIN PCIe and two 8-PIN EPS cables. Ideally, three single 6+2-PIN PCIe and one 8-PIN EPS should have been included. This is especially true for those with non-12VHPWR graphics cards. There have only been very minor changes from SX1000 v1.1, making the SX1000R more or less, a 12VHPWR refresh. We also feel SilverStone tries to cover too many bases with its included cable selection vs. catering to the target audience.
